Ed Hetzler graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1970 with a B.S. in Chemistry/Biology. He spent 27 years as a Risk Management Consultant for the Factory Mutual System analyzing hazards and providing customer service to high-risk industries such as basic metal, mining, power generation, and chemical. His responsibilities included project management, preparing written evaluations, conducting risk management workshops, and training. He has organized training workshops and conducted presentations in the U.K, France, Belgium, Italy, Israel, and Taiwan as well as throughout the U.S.

Ed is the creator and manager of several web sites. These include the popular music education site Hetzler's Fakebook and a poetry and short story site called Wordly.

In addition to his work related experience, Ed is an actively performing folk musician who plays fiddle, mandolin, guitar and tenor banjo. He has  participated in open stages and fiddle contests in the Philadelphia area and played with the contra dance band, Roaring Jelly. Ed organized and was the lead fiddler for June Apple, a folk group that was active playing at local arts and historical festivals in eastern Pennsylvania in the early nineties. Ed is currently the instrumental half of October Rose an acoustic folk duo from Hudson, MA.

Louise Hetzler is a licensed and clinically certified speech-language pathologist with over 25 years experience. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (1973) where she earned her B.S. degree in Human Development, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Speech and Hearing Sciences, specializing in Speech and Language Pathology.

Louise is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and belongs to the special interest division, Language, Learning, and Education. Louise is a certified teacher (grades K through 9) in Massachusetts.

Louise has combined her talents as a songwriter and educator. She has produced her own CD, On Clear Water, and a companion Language Arts Curriculum Guide emphasizing values of peace, kindness, and environmental awareness.

As a singer, Louise has performed at the Blackstone Heritage State Park, Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary, the Old Vienna Coffee House, Passim’s, the Acton Jazz Café, and the Natick Center for the Arts. Currently, she is the lead singer for October Rose.
